Wednesday

Wednesday comes from Old English “Wōdnesdæg.” Wōden, or Odin, was the ruler of the Norse gods' realm and associated with wisdom, magic, victory and death. The Romans connected Wōden to Mercury because they were both guides of souls after death and shared similar attributes of eloquence and the ability to travel.

When you do something beautiful and nobody noticed, do not be sad. For the sun every morning is a beautiful spectacle, and yet most of the audience still sleeps.” John Lennon

Hump day also has other connotations rather than anger, displeasure or getting over a difficulty!

Apparently 'Wednesday' is known as "hump day" in America because it's in the middle of the working week and the hump which you have to get over to make it to Friday!
