W is for Walking on Sunshine by Katrina and the Waves

"Walking on Sunshine" is a song written by Kimberley Rew for Katrina and the Waves' 1983 debut full-length album.

I’ve chosen this song from my youth for its bouncy uplifting, nature. The words remind me of the quote by Sam Sundquist: “Sometimes you have to create your own sunshine.”

"I'm walking on sunshine (Wow!)

And don't it feel good"

This joyful song has been used in a number of feature films including:

The Secret of My Success (1987),

Bean: The Ultimate Disaster Movie (1997) and

American Psycho (2000).

Also, Jack Black's character in High Fidelity (2000) plays this song on a cassette tape.
