Toilet Paper Roll Sculptures

Rather than throw them away or make them into homemade crackers, Russian born artist, Anastassia Elias uses empty toilet paper rolls as canvases. She cuts out intricate paper scenes and then stages them inside toilet paper rolls.

In some cases, the actual rolls become part of the scene e.g. she has scenes of miners picking away at the “mine” around them, and of painters at work.

Anastassia Elias, installed in France since 2001, doesn’t limit her talents to toilet paper rolls; she has also created scenes inside coffee cups too, illustrates books and has exhibited larger scale works from string..

This link is definitely worth a look to see her string works Tissages

And here is her website
