"My fountains spread the pure joy of life. They are a combination of an element (water) with the raw material (bronze). In general, I would say that my works are figurative representations. I work in this way, figuratively, feeling very close to the form, which allows me to formulate them as well as possible." Malgorzata Chodakowska
Małgorzata Chodakowska was born in Poland and attended secondary school of Arts in Łódź before studying sculpture at the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna. Since 1991 Malgorzata has lived in Dresden, Germany as a freelance sculptor. Her work has been rewarded with numerous international prizes and she is often called upon for exhibitions all over the world.
She has a passion for wood: linden, ash, cherry, pear, oak (her favourite) and uses, to do this, uprooted trees that she obtains from the forestry administration. A wooden sculpture usually takes three months.
