Russian born Yuliya Brodskaya, (born in 1983, Moscow) is an artist and illustrator known for her handmade and detailed paper illustrations. In 2004 she moved from Moscow to UK where she continued her education in art, at the University of Hertfordshire.
Much of Brodskaya’s work uses an old technique called Quilling, in which ribbons of paper are used to create intricate designs; it is an art form that involves the use of strips of paper that are rolled, shaped and glued together to create intricate designs. It is believed to have originated in the 15th-century and was first used by French and Italian nuns and priests to decorate religious objects
