Sand Animation Art
The technique of sand animation is interesting to watch and is an example of a temporary art form. It is called ‘sand animation’ art because the sand is in constant movement i.e. animated. The artist creates images by drawing lines and figures in sand and the art that is being created can evolve, change and disappear to evolve as something new in seconds.
There are two types of sand animation art
Stop motion technique, where designs are drawn on sand and then the images are captured systematically frame by frame and then rearranged.
and
Live sand animation, where the actual motion of the sand art being created is captured on video/or seen live by an audience. An overhead projector or light board is used to display the art that is being created.
