Shonda Lynn Rhimes (born 13/01/1970) is an American television screenwriter, producer, and author. She is best known as the showrunner – creator, head writer and executive producer—of the television medical drama Grey’s Anatomy, its spin-off Private Practice and the political thriller series Scandal. Rhimes has also served as the executive producer of the ABC television series Off the Map, how to get away with Murder, The catch and Grey's Anatomy spin-off Station 19


Rhimes, is responsible for some 70 hours of television per season and says that she loves to work.


"When I am hard at work, when I am deep in it, there is no other feeling," she says. She has a name for this feeling: The hum. The hum is a drug, the hum is music, the hum is God's whisper in her ear. But what happens when it stops? Is she anything besides the hum?
