Fast Track to Happiness by Lynda Field

“If in our daily life we can smile,

if we can be peaceful and happy,

not only we, but everyone will profit from it.

This is the most basic kind of peace work.” Thich Nhat Hanh

Fast Track to Happiness is a guide to help you live a fulfilling life by taking things one step at a time (following the principle of kaizen), it encourages you to look for opportunities and pursue your passions but to maintain balance in your life.

The book helps us to see that happiness brings success not the other way round and that loves opens us up to a meaningful life.

Further more, when we have a realistic approach to time, it allows us to do all the things we love and still be productive

The analogy of ‘the happy cat’ is used as an example of perfect balance between pleasure and productivity – a cat being flexible and adaptable

“If the cat had been in Aesop’s fable she would definitely have won the race and had time for a nap in the sun before he other two were even in sight of the finishing line” LF

Lynda leaves us with the challenge:

“If you are feeling bored or disenchanted then use these feelings as a wake-up call; something in your life needs changing and now is the time to cut to the chase”
