ACT - Acceptance and Commitment Training - is highly flexible and goes beyond the usual mindful approaches by helping people discover their values and find more meaning in their lives.


The metaphor of quicksand is used to remind us how struggling and fighting with e.g. anxiety may lead us to feel it even further and get stuck whereas if we stop and consciously come into contact with that feeling of anxiety etc then we allow ourselves to work with it a different way which can help us to become unstuck
